How to Avoid Conflict

September 17, 2021

We hope you enjoy this vlog where we successfully avoided a late-night fight because we were both able to not jump aboard the emotional turbulence train. Instead we let our minds settle so we could sleep.

But first Rohini wants to clarify that she does not keep the salt lamp on 24/7. She turns it off at night after getting in to bed, but not before she walks into the bedroom. This helps her to avoid walking into things and breaking them.

Onto the topic of this Vlog, the best way to avoid conflict is to not identify with painful thoughts and feelings. This can sound esoteric, so we are sharing a practical example that illustrates how we were able to not identifying with our negative thoughts and feelings and how this helped us avoid conflict.

This is very different than what we used to do. Rather than being the "silent witness" to our thoughts and feelings, we used to tinker with them. But tinkering and analyzing never helped us to find more peace of mind. Those habits would just get us more caught up and often result in conflict.

We hope you enjoy our giggly recollection.
